It's a drastic jump in early voting participation compared to the last mayoral election in 2021 when a total of 15,418 New Yorkers cast ballots on the first day of early voting.

yesterdayNearly 80,000 voters took to the polls on the first day of early voting in New York City.
According to the NYC Board of Elections, the borough with the most ballots cast was Manhattan with 24,046.
Brooklyn had the second most with 22,105 followed by Queens with 19,045, The Bronx with 7,793 and Staten Island with 6,420 ballots cast on Saturday.
It's a drastic jump in early voting participation compared to the last mayoral election in 2021 when a total of 15,418 New Yorkers cast ballots on the first day of early voting.
Three candidates remain in the race for New York City mayor with Democrat and Queens Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani leading the polls, followed by former Gov. Andrew Cuomo who is running as an independent and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.
Early voting continues through Nov. 2.
