LIRR service between Far Rockaway and Valley Stream is limited because of a fire that erupted near the Woodmere station.

MTA officials say they received a call reporting a fire on the tracks at 5:27 a.m. The blaze was controlled by 6:15 a.m.

Travelers can expect delays and cancellations along the Far Rockaway branch.

Officials say the MTA will continue honoring tickets on the A at Far Rockaway-Mott Av.

NICE bus will also continue to honor fares for LIRR ticket holders. Commuters can transfer to the N1 at Valley Stream to travel to Gibson.

For service between stations Hewlett to Far Rockaway, travelers can take a train to Lynbrook and transfer to the N31 and N32 bus.
