Police say a Brooklyn man has been arrested for spitting at an MTA employee and injuring two police officers who were attempting to detain him aboard a 6 train in Mott Haven.
Julian Cambell, 44, is accused of carrying out the attack just after 2 a.m. Thursday as the train arrived at the 3rd Avenue and East 138th St station.
Authorities say Cambell was acting in a disorderly manner and spat at the 53-year-old employee who ordered him to exit the train. Two officers responded and attempted to arrest Cambell, who resisted, injuring the officers.
EMS took the two officers to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where they received treatment for minor injuries.
The MTA employee was not injured, according to police.
Cambell is charged with assault, resisting arrest, obstructing governmental administration, disorderly conduct and harassment.
