        Mount Vernon celebrates Black history with performance at City Hall

        The show featured music, dance and spoken word by students from the Denzel Washington School of the Arts, along with live music from rock band The Revelators.

        Black history, culture and community were on full display in Mount Vernon on Wednesday
        The city debuted its Black History Month performance titled "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" at City Hall.
        The show featured music, dance and spoken word by students from the Denzel Washington School of the Arts, along with live music from rock band The Revelators.
        During the show, the city recognized Pastor Damon Mack, Cranson Johnson, Jahni Rolland, Isaac Amouzou, Tianna Patten and Sade Cameron as this year's Black History Month honorees.
