Motorcyclist killed, another injured in Burlington County crash
A 70-year-old motorcyclist was killed and another rider seriously injured in a two-motorcycle crash Saturday afternoon in Burlington County, according to New Jersey State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 4:37 p.m. on County Road 542 in Washington Township.
A preliminary investigation determined that Paul Roth, 70, of Whiting, was operating a Harley-Davidson motorcycle behind another Harley-Davidson when the front of Roth’s motorcycle struck the rear of the motorcycle ahead of him.
The impact caused the front motorcycle to overturn. Roth’s motorcycle also overturned, left the roadway and struck a road sign. Both riders were ejected.
Roth sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead.
The other motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital for treatment.
