Staff members connect families with day care providers near them, so parents can focus on themselves and their employment.
“In this country, parents have to be working all the time, so they don't spend much time with their kids. So, we try to be there for them,” said Dairy Alejo, an assistant day care provider.
Day care providers teach the Department of Education curriculum, so when children finish the program, they are ready to enter kindergarten.
The corporation also owns 400 affordable housing units throughout the community and provides free, online courses like GED preparation, ESL learning and Microsoft certifications.
There is also a food pantry serving about 1,500 families a week.
