More rescued beagles are arriving in the Hudson Valley as part of a large-scale animal rescue effort.
SPCA Westchester says it took in 16 dogs on Wednesday from the Freegle Foundation in Dutchess County.
The animals are among those rescued from a breeding facility in Wisconsin that is set to shut down next month.
The Briarcliff Manor-based organization previously welcomed 10 of the dogs, all of which have since been adopted.
Officials say the newly arrived beagles will first receive care at an animal hospital in New Rochelle.
After that, they will be transferred to the shelter, where they will eventually be made available for adoption.
Rescue groups say the effort is part of a larger mission to give the dogs a chance at safe, permanent homes.
