Police are searching for a moped-riding duo who they say is responsible for a chain snatching spree across the Bronx.
The six robberies happened between March 21 and April 11, and in the two most recent incidents, the victims were held at gunpoint. Authorities say the youngest target was a 14-year-old girl.
The pair followed a similar narrative in each incident. They approached the victim from behind on a moped, threatened them and used force to remove a chain from their necks before riding away.
Police say the girl fell victim to the duo in Belmont on March 21, just after 5:30 p.m.
They approached her in front of 2339 Hoffman St. and snatched her necklace off her neck. Authorities say she suffered pain and redness to her neck.
The pair escalated their tactics in the two most recent chain-snatching incidents, holding a 27-year-old man at gunpoint near 2054 Wallace Ave. on April 8. Three days later, they threatened a 35-year-old man with a gun in front of 1109 Fteley Ave.
None of the victims suffered serious injuries.
