Hundreds of students from across Monmouth County volunteered Sunday at Howell High School for the second annual Dermer Dreams 100 Yard Food Drive Challenge.
Yellow bags filled with donated food covered the school's football field. The donations are set to be picked up by local charities and people in need.
The event, also known as Fill the Field, aims to collect 100,000 pounds of food for New Jersey families.
"It just feels so great to be able to give back to my community that's given me so much ... and just be here with all my friends and know that I'm doing a good thing today," said Arianna Mustacchio, a senior at Howell High School.
Organizers said it was incredible to see students and community members come together to give back.
