A Monmouth County man was charged with multiple drugs and weapons offenses following a joint investigation into drug distribution in Ocean County, prosecutors said.
Authorities said detectives from the Ocean County and Monmouth County prosecutor’s offices ran a two-month investigation that identified 45-year-old Harry Clayton, of Ocean Township, as allegedly distributing cocaine in Ocean County.
On March 12, 2026, investigators observed Clayton at a residence in Neptune City before he left in a vehicle, police said. Detectives later stopped the vehicle, and authorities said Clayton tried to conceal items in his pants and obstructed efforts to recover them before he was taken into custody.
A vehicle search resulted in the seizure of heroin, a Smith and Wesson .380-caliber handgun, hollow-point ammunition and $1,800 in cash, according to prosecutors. Detectives also recovered approximately 24 grams of crack cocaine from Clayton’s person, police said.
Clayton was charged with multiple offenses, including possession of more than one-half ounce of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of heroin, weapons offenses and obstruction-related charges.
He was transported to the Ocean County Jail and later released.
