Several New York airports are still dealing with delays and cancellations from the storm, and that includes at MacArthur Airport in Runkakama, which is currently dealing with snow removal on the runways. Look at that. But airport officials tell us it's been difficult as the snow and cold weather continue. The wind is always a factor on any open field, the ball field, anything. So we have something called drifting. So even, um, a lot of times you get the whole field, you know, clean today and then tonight we'll get wind gusts and then we have to come back in and broom stuff. Dozens of flights at JFK and LaGuardia have also been canceled today.

Out in Suffolk, News Twelve's Long Island, Logan Crawford is in Bay Shore, where one resident tells us they are dealing with plowing problems. Now that the storm is over, it's time to dig out, but a homeowner here in Bay Shore says that the plows that cleared this road dumped a hurdle of snow in front of her driveway, blocking her car in, and she says she can't get it out. This is on the corner of MK Street and Spur Drive North in Bay Shore. Dawn Warr says she can't get to work today because she can't. Can't get her car over the mound of snow in front of her driveway. She says the school bus stop next to her house is also covered in snow from the plows, and she says she's concerned about where kids will stand when they go back to school. She says she called the town to tell them. I tried to dig myself out last night, and the plows came last night and plowed me in again last night. I am trying to dig myself out this morning to get to work. A spokesperson for the town of Islip says it's the homeowners' responsibility to dig themselves out. They say that they have 250 plows out plowing 1300 miles of road in the town of Islip, and that unfortunately this is one of the impacts of plowing in Bay Shore, Suffolk County, Logan Crawford, News 12.

Doors today checking out all the roads around Long Island with Jonathan Gordon. Yes, Rich, you certainly can. And while that makes for a great day for some of the kids who have a day off here, they're out, you know, in the streets throwing the snowballs, hanging out, it does not make for a great experience for the drivers here. We know that they told us neighbors say that a plow did pass through here earlier today, but aside from that, there is definitely a significant amount of snow still left on some of these roads here on Holly Lane. Uh, you know, one of the, the great things about when you're, you know, here on Long Island, you're in these communities is you have, uh, all these neighbors that band together, they all come together to make sure they're taking care of one another, so we're seeing a lot of that today, a lot of neighbors who are out and about, they are breaking out the shovels together. Snow throwers really just taking care of one another. So moments ago I actually caught up with a neighbor who had a snow thrower. He said, Look, this is, it's heavy snow today, even though he has the machine. It's still a lot of work and it's a lot of effort, but he's happy to do it to make sure he takes care of those who he lives with here in this community. I've always tried to help them out. Um, some just can't do it physically and others just have kids, so, you know, I'm able to do it, so I'm thankful to do it. Yeah, and that's such a great attitude at the end of the day. It's the best way to do it, and we know that this is sort of the scene that we're seeing really as we've been crossing all across the island, really been all over Nassau County today here in Thunderbolt, and we have seen scenes just like this. It is all about digging out today. Make sure you take your time. Don't go too hard. It could be really strenuous when you're out here today. There's a lot of snow for a lot of people. A reminder from mail carriers to keep walkways clear of any leftover snow, the US Postal Service says to get out and shovel sidewalks in areas near your mailboxes so letter carriers can safely navigate the ice and snow. Postal Service says if you don't do this, you may not receive your mail.

This morning, the LIRR is operating on a Sunday schedule due to the storm. That means there will be less peak service on every branch. If you're commuting today, check the train time app before heading to the station. Every branch is being affected. There are some additional delays out there. We're keeping an eye on how service is running throughout the morning.

Plows across the island have been working throughout the storm to clear up the roads, and that includes in the town of Huntington, the highway department there, they're taking our Jen Selig on a ride along this morning to see how the conditions are looking like there. I mean, you have the superintendent himself driving around in his plow. He does driving too, Jen. I love that. He does, and he's been working nonstop. I think Andre, you mentioned you probably got like an hour of sleep last night, enough, enough time to take a shower, lay down, eat something, and get back out here with my crew. Hey, and you were saying if the snow's falling, you guys are out there. We're out as soon as it hits and you know we're not going to go home until everything is clean and safe. We, we started our morning in Elwood, then we drove over to Melville. Now we're in a neighborhood in Dix Hills and pretty similar story. I mean, you guys are going to go back and forth making rounds. I know once the snow's covered, people start calling, you guys come back out. Absolutely. So, you know, we're out there now because it looks like just riding around with you for this short time. You can see the roads are covered again, so we got to clean them again. So we're just going to keep going around and unfortunately we got to hope that it stops snowing at some point. Yes, and I'm hearing possible snow for next weekend too, but you guys are all ready for this. We're ready to go. This is what we trained to do our whole life, and I love it just sitting in the car with you for like the last hour or so. You've been calling. People to make sure that they're coming to these specific streets that we're on because we're seeing it firsthand what's going on. Yes, so anything we see where there's a problem area could have froze over, that's going to be the issue with this freezing up today. It's going to be frigid weather and just got to take it slow and if everybody can stay home one more day, if you can, if you can afford to do it. Let's, let's try and stay home. I know my kids are happy. There's no school today, so that's a good thing. Rather be safe than sorry for sure. So again, we're going to continue driving around the town of Huntington and send it back to you guys now in the studio. Wow. And Andre Sorrentino, we trust out there driving the vehicles himself.
