Missing man found in Brewster
UPDATE 1:20 PM: The mother of a missing 20-year-old man says he was found in Brewster and was taken to a local hospital. The original story is below:
The mother of a missing Putnam County man is asking for the public’s help to find her 20-year-old son, Michael Mastrandrea, who she says was last seen Sunday morning in the Village of Brewster.
According to his mother, Michael was spotted sometime between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. near Kovacker’s Market on North Main Street, where he was reportedly seen talking to a couple. She was told by a tipster that an EMT spoke with him earlier that morning at the Brewster Fire Department and told him to go to a nearby warming center.
His family says Michael lives with his mother and older brother and left home without his phone, coat, wallet or ID. They also say he’s been struggling emotionally since his father, an NYPD officer, died by suicide in 2010.
Michael’s disappearance has been reported to New York State Police, who have not yet released any information about the case.
His mother, Laura Mastrandrea, spoke with News 12 and said she just wants her son to come home safely.
“I just want him to be safe and come home. If he sees any of this, we love him and we’re afraid for his safety,” she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Michael’s mother at 914-819-2818 or reach out to New York State Police Troop K at 845-677-7300.
