Anna Bahr, a longtime aide to Sen. Bernie Sanders, has been appointed as Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s new director of communications.

Bahr took to X to express excitement about joining the mayor’s team, stating that she is determined to chart a new course in progressive leadership.

“The future of New York belongs to the people, not the billionaire class,” she posted.
