Scorching temperatures proved dangerous during a high school graduation at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson.
The mayor said about two dozen people were treated for heat-related illness during the ceremony for JFK High School. Four of them were taken to the hospital.
The event ended abruptly, and the stadium was being evacuated just as News 12 arrived.
There was no word yet on the conditions of those affected.
