Multiple crews worked to contain a large fire that overtook multiple homes on Fire Island on Friday.

The fire began around 3:30 p.m. on Bay Walk in Ocean Beach, according to officials.

The fire has since been knocked down.

Fire officials confirm the fire involved multiple homes.

Seven departments responded to battle the blaze.
