The manager of a massage business in Morris County has been charged with promoting prostitution, money laundering and drug possession following an investigation into an alleged illicit massage operation, authorities said.
Morris County prosecutors said Eongeun Ju, 57, of Flushing, New York, oversaw the day-to-day operations of 46 Pine Tree Spa on Route 46 in Kenvil. Investigators allege Ju operated an illicit massage business and received proceeds generated from sex acts performed by employees.
On May 27, investigators from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Sex Crimes Unit and the Roxbury Police Department executed a search warrant at the business. Authorities said they seized items indicative of prostitution, suspected methamphetamine and about $8,000 in cash.
Ju was charged with promoting prostitution, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and money laundering. Prosecutors said Ju was released on pretrial supervision and is scheduled to appear for a preindictment conference on July 6.
Authorities also charged Zhuo Li, 47, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and engaging in prostitution. Li was issued a summons and released pending a court appearance.
