The Manhattan District Attorney's Office is asking for the public’s help after a deadly wrong-way crash on the Henry Hudson Parkway claimed two lives. Investigators are now looking for witnesses who may have seen the driver involved in the fatal collision.
The crash happened on Aug. 24 at approximately 2:21 a.m. near West 165th Street. Jimmy Connors, the alleged suspect, was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound in the northbound lanes when he collided with other vehicles. According to the NYPD, Connors fled the scene before the Silverado caught fire.
The crash resulted in the deaths of 38-year-old Kirk Walker and 40-year-old Robert McLaurin. Both men were pronounced dead after being transported to hospitals.
Connors was later arrested and charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, and leaving the scene of an accident.
Authorities are urging anyone who was on the Henry Hudson Parkway that night who may have seen something to come forward. The DA's office posted an alert on social media, hoping for any details that could aid the investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Manhattan DA’s Office at 212-335-9040.
