A man is injured after being shot overnight near the Whitman Houses in Fort Greene.

Police confirmed the shooting happened near 103 N. Portland Ave. The victim, a man, was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.

Video recorded by a neighbor shows officers and an ambulance arriving at the scene. In the video, EMS crews bring a man out on a stretcher while officers appear to hold bandages against the side of his face. What appears to be blood can also be seen on his shirt.

By early morning, North Portland Avenue remained closed to traffic as investigators continued to gather evidence.

Police have not yet said what led up to the shooting, whether anyone has been arrested or if they are looking for a suspect. Investigators say the case is still in its early stages, and more information is expected as the investigation continues.
