A man found unresponsive inside a Huntington Station pool on Friday has been hospitalized serious condition.

Police say George Barrett was swimming at the Avalon Apartments when he lost consciousness. A witness discovered him floating in the water around 4:35 p.m.

A bystander entered the water and pulled him to the side. Two others helped pull him out of the pool, administered CPR and called 911.

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad rushed to the scene and administered further medical treatment.

The 69-year-old remains at Huntington Hospital as of Saturday morning.
