A Honduran man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing children at a Medford T.J. Maxx on three separate occasions.
The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office says Jimmy Harry Velasquez Gomez admitted to
inappropriately touching the buttocks of the victims, who were all under the age of 11.
The first incident involved a 7-year-old girl he approached in the toy aisle on April 19, 2025.
Investigators say the second victim was an 11-year-old girl who he touched while walking by on Sept. 20, 2025.
The final victim, a 9-year-old girl, was grabbed while she browsed the toy aisle on Oct. 29, 2025.
Suffolk County police obtained surveillance video of each incident during the investigation.
Authorities arrested Velasquez Gomez on Nov. 1, 2025 in East Islip. He has remained in police custody ever since.
He was previously convicted of public lewdness and has been deported from the United States twice since 2005, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
The 44-year-old is due back in court on Oct. 9. Authorities say he will be sentenced to three terms of six years in prison running concurrently.
He will also be subject to ten years of post-release supervision.
