A Pelham Bay man is facing federal charges for allegedly selling fentanyl that led to the deaths of three people.
Elvin Villa was arrested after a long-term investigation involving the DEA, NYPD and federal prosecutors.
The 43-year-old is accused of running a fentanyl distribution operation between 2023 and 2026.
Prosecutors say the drugs he sold caused the overdose deaths of a 57-year-old man in Connecticut, and a 32-year-old woman and a 69-year-old man in Port Chester.
Investigators allege Villa continued selling drugs after customers stopped responding to his messages and after multiple overdose deaths were linked to his drugs.
Authorities say they recovered suspected narcotics, drug packaging materials, mixing equipment, cash, a firearm and a ski mask in his home.
