Police say a man drowned Saturday morning at Southold Town Beach.

Detectives say 48-year-old Luis Alciviades Encalada, of Corona, Queens, was fishing on a boat with two others when the boat began to take in water.

Police say all three people went into the water to get items from the sunken boat.

Emergency responders later found Alciviades Encalada on the beach, where he was pronounced dead.

The other two people were not hurt.
