A man is in critical condition after colliding with a car in East New York.

It happened at the intersection of Hinsdale Street and Pitkin Avenue Saturday around 5:30 a.m.

Police say a blue SUV was traveling southbound on Hinsdale Street when it collided with a moped traveling on Pitkin Avenue.

The operator of the moped suffered severe trauma to his head. He was transported by EMS to Brookdale Hospital in critical condition.

The driver of the blue SUV remained on scene.

There are no arrests and investigations are ongoing.
