Police are searching for a man they say hit a 71 year old Gravesend man with a shovel. News Twelve's Karina Gary spoke exclusively with the victim about the attack. Caught on camera, exclusive video shows the moment a complete stranger swings a shovel at a man's face. I had no conversation with the man and our son. Boom, right across my face. That man was 71-year-old Vito, who has lived here on Stryker Court for the last 14 years, living what he says was a peaceful life. All my neighbors respect them. They respect me and everything, but that piece was interrupted just before noon on December. 27th. That's when Vito says he was here clearing snow off of his car when he was attacked in broad daylight. Video shows that man walking away, leaving Vito on the sidewalk in complete shock. It's really painful. My brain is like blow up, wow. Somebody hit me with a shovel. He was right outside his home and was able to call out for help. My neighbors called 911 and the cops and police and ambulance came. He was then taken to the hospital and thankfully given the all clear. Just a little bruise or whatever, you know, but You know, but nothing big. If you know anything about this attack or recognize the man you see here on your screen, you are urged to contact police.
