A Massachusetts resident accused of sexual extortion and sharing child pornography is facing numerous charges, according to prosecutors.

Investigators say Robert Meserve III stalked the victim for several weeks. He used eight different phone numbers to send threatening messages and nude photos to her and her family.

Detectives determined that he sent the messages in order to coerce the victim into a sexual relationship.

Authorities say he also used the internet to share digital files depicting nude and sexually explicit images of children.

Meserve III was arrested in Plymouth on Wednesday. The charges against him include distribution of child pornography, sexual extortion, terroristic threats and stalking.

He was remanded to the Plymouth County Correctional Facility pending extradition to Bergen County.
