Well, we usually bring you Main Street, Connecticut on Fridays, but we're moving it up a day. It's a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and see all that they have to offer. today we're in the city of Norwalk. All right, News talk Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at Sono Dojo to tell us more, Mark. I'm hoping to earn my belt here today, Becky, and that's right. I've got a black belt, but this doesn't count right now. We're in South Norwalk, Hanford Place. We're kind of near the police department and, uh, Washington Street over here in South Norwalk. Master Nick, he is the man, came to this country in 1990 with 50 bucks in his pocket. Built a great business, right? 30 years you've been doing this. September 15th will be a 30 years. What kind of martial arts do you teach? Uh, we started actually we do a Japanese iujitsu stand up self-defense. Uh, we do some kickboxing and American kickboxing and also we do a muay Thai mix. We have a new instructor GP who does a little bit of Muay Thai. We teach a Filipino art, which is the knife and the stick and a machete. We also do some of the basic judo. We also do some a little bit of aikita but not so much. Tai chi. We do a 6 combination 8 method which is a liuba far northern Shaolin style. It's a lot of meditation, a lot of slow movement. Now we can show you describe a little bit more. You're gonna hypnotize. So we will do a lot of stuff, a lot of hand, a lot of self-defense, a lot of hands-on. You always gotta make sure you're, you know, learning the way the, the techniques are basically if someone's grab you or throws you or push you, these are basic stuff you learn in jiu-jitsu. Well, let's get some, let's get some demonstration. My stepson JP Let's go. We're gonna do some we tie on this one. All right, let me get out of the way here. Gonna show you some. So this is the can we tie, this is the kickboxing which include the includes a little bit of the knees, knees and the run houses and the kicks. It's a beautiful form. They use a lot of the knees and elbows. So we're gonna go 1123, knee and 0123 boom. And This is the Mutai run house. OK, ready? 123, boom boom. There we go and oh, want you to have a cut knee. 123 have any. All right, what else you got? You got another demonstration show now we got a jujitsu. Come on, you two guys here, Jose, come in here for a second. If someone puts both hands on the throat, always remember, if he put both hands on the throat, I mean he has two last hands, he can't do anything. I got two open hands, so I move it to the throat. I step in, move him up, come back, judo and luck with the jujitsu. Ouch, tapped out. My daughter Julis also. So if I grab number one, number one, yijitsu kick, boom here. Oh, and the rest. All right, we usually bring you Main Street, Connecticut on Fridays. We're moving it up one day. Why not? It's a chance to showcase our local towns and cities and all they have to offer today we're in the city of Norwalk. News 12 Connecticut's Mark Sudall is at Lazy's sister this morning. He has more. Mark, brand new place. Yeah, brand new place, Becky. Hey, it's Thursday. Why not? Yes, we are on Washington Street in South Norwalk. Max Weiss joins us this morning. Thank you so much for coming in so early to do this. How'd you come up with the name Lazy Sister? Thanks for having me and thanks for visiting me. Lazy Sister. The idea is we want to really promote family style dining here, of course the Lazy Susan. Which is super synonymous with family style dining and and Chinese food, um, and then the last kind of part of it is we want our guests to be lazy when they come here. We're taking care of you. If you're too lazy to cook at home, call us, uh, order online, you can come pick up and we want to just leave the work to us. That's the idea. Well, I think we're all pretty much lazy at heart. Uh, so it's, it's all Chinese food, right? Yes. So we're serving all Chinese food, um, parts of different, different parts of China, and then also American Chinese food, but generally speaking, the menu is American Chinese classics and then some dishes that are more authentic to different regions of China. Now tell us about your dumplings. This is interesting. Uh, we have a bunch of different dumplings on the menu, but we're kind of known for soup dumplings. It's one of our most popular menu items, and our logo is actually our lazy sister eating a soup dumpling out of a soup spoon. So how do you make the soup? Dumpling. So the idea is that there's a consomme that goes into the dumpling. So there's basically a frozen soup cube that then gets wrapped in the dumpling wrapper. And then as the dumpling steams and cooks, the soup then melts. The outside of the dumpling cooks, and then you have a soupy inside, a very delicate dump. Playing that that you're then then you then eat that's it. You have a sushi restaurant also in New York and then you do catering besides, yeah, so we, uh, have a sushi restaurant in New York called Hoseki, uh, which is in Saks Fifth Avenue, and then we have a catering business called 10 Homacase where we do at home sushi experiences and events. Now you have a dessert here that I find very interesting. What is this? So this is our fortune cookie soft serve. It's our only dessert, and we were thinking about a unique dessert upon the menu. And so the idea is that we're flavoring the base of the ice cream with almond and orange to get a fortune cookie flavoring. And then we have a toasted fortune cookie crumble on top of the ice cream. All right, I'm gonna try this. I couldn't eat the other food because my photographer Kenny stuck his fingers in there. So uh let me try this. Oh wow, OK, right. That is cool. Yeah, it's cool. It's a unique taste. Uh, you get the orange, you get the almond, and then you know you get the vanilla, which are the flavors of fortune cookie, very good, and then the crumble, yeah, and we have a great soft serve machine. It gets super, super creamy. I didn't have my cereal yet. This is kind of like it's pretty good, really good. Thank you so much, Max. Really good stuff, Becky. I think I know what I'm doing this weekend. That's that's a better breakfast food, yeah, yeah.
