It's Friday time for main street, Connecticut where we visit our local cities and towns to showcase all they have to offer news. 12 Connecticut is in Stamford at Puerto Vallarta restaurant to celebrate Day of the Dead Mark. Good morning, Becky. Yes, we know yesterday was Halloween. It comes from the term all Hollows. E which always comes before November 1st, which is also All Saints day and the day of the dead. And to talk a little bit about the day of the dead celebration is Jacob Rodriguez with Puerto Vallarta. Thank you so much for being with us this morning. Thank you for coming out. So talk to us about the day of the dead and the celebration. Yes. So day of the dead comes back to the pre colonial days with the Aztecs and the Catholics. So it mixes uh the day of the All Saints day with day of the dead. And then we call it Mexico Dia de Los Muertos. Dia Los Muertos is obviously day of the dead. It's a two day celebration first day celebrating Dia de Los Angelitos, which is day of the little angels. So all the deceased kids, we celebrate all the deceased kids. And then the second day is uh day of the dead where we celebrate all the adults that have desired. So, one big part of this celebration is celebrating every person's favorite items, food, drinks, liquor. It is the day not to be sad. It's a day to be happy. It's a day to celebrate their life, celebrate everything they did with us while, while they were here with us. And, you know, it's truly a special day for us in our culture. Now you have some special bread that you, uh have this morning. Show us as well. This is part of the celebration. Yeah. So this is called Pan de Muerto Bread of the Dead. So, it's a day that we, uh, it's a bread that we break out when someone passes away, but it's a bread to celebrate. It's, it's a, it's a, it's a, a bread to celebrate that they're in a better place and a better place in their life as well. All right. So we're gonna break a little bread. Break a little bread right over here. Sounds good. And, and, and this is just regular old bread. Yeah. Regular old bread. Some sesame seeds on top. It's got like a sweet flavor. Exactly. It's a little sweet. A little buttery, a little, a little, couple of sesame seeds on top. Maybe a little more. Yeah. Yeah. Going Becky. You know how this rolls?
