While you are jamming out at a concert or hopping on your next flight, some of the simplest products, like a rope or a barricade, can play a vital role in our daily lives.
Visiontron in Holtsville manufactures crowd control solution products on Long Island.
The business has existed since 1964, but the Torsiello family bought it in 1992. They design and make signs, ropes, stanchions, and barriers. You have likely seen their products in airports, casinos, stadiums, and banks.
"It started in 1964. We were in the airline industry, making signage for them back in the day, the old school arrival departure boards that tell you when your flight is on time and delayed, that's what we made," said Bryan Torsiello, vice president of Visiontron. Bryan works alongside his brother Anthony and his father, Joe.
The business constantly keeps up with technology. It creates advanced devices to make your traveling experience a charged one. "JFK came to us. They had an issue with people always on the wall charging their phones, and they wanted to sit down while charging phones—so we came up with a Power Pod—it's a portable electronic charger," said Anthony Torsiello, vice president of Visiontron.
For the Torsiello family, one thing that never changes is the importance of family. "We talk business during the day, and sometimes we go out to dinner, and it's hard not to talk business, but you have your family side, and you have your work side, we work well together," said Bryan.
