Many Long Islanders started the holiday season Sunday with a festive 5K in East Meadow.

The Annual Nassau County Turkey Trot was held at Eisenhower Park, where runners, spectators and supporters gathered to raise money and collect food donations for community members in need.

Runners who crossed the finish line received post-race swag and medals.
