A middle school wrestling coach is accused of endangering the welfare of a child in Nassau County.

John Anfossi, 54, allegedly threw a Long Beach Middle School wrestler to the ground and laid on top of him without consent.

He also tried to get the wrestler on top of him, according to Nassau police.

The incident happened in December.

The superintendent tells News 12 they're cooperating with investigators and the person in question has been re-assigned during the investigation.

Anfossi was arraigned on Jan. 28 and a temporary order of protection was issued.

He is due back in court on Feb. 10.
