Police responded to an unspecified threat at Northern Valley Regional High School at Old Tappan on Monday.

The school says the primary threat has been contained.

Officials were conducting "a thorough investigation of the building", according to a statement from the district.

The school urges that nobody should come to the school, as entry to the campus or building is restricted.
