Lime, a shared electric vehicle company, says ridership went up by 85% in The Bronx and Queens in 2024.
However, some say they have created a safety hazard. City Council Member Kristy Marmarato is calling for the scooters to be removed from the borough due to improperly parked e-scooters and dangerous driving habits.
“It’s frustrating for people to navigate around them…people are zipping by on the sidewalks,” she said.
Lime told News 12 that “a small fraction” of riders are not following the rules.
