Students and staff at J.W. Dodd Middle School took a bold step to support kids battling cancer. At the second annual St. Baldrick’s event, an eighth grader, the principal, and 14 others had their heads shaved in front of classmates and staff.
The fundraiser also honors a former student and childhood cancer survivor.
Davian Reyes, an eighth grader, said, “It was fun, they made me laugh!” Principal Christopher Porciello added, “I’m so proud of him… I’m so proud of our community, this was an awesome event.”
All proceeds from the money raised will go to childhood cancer research through the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
