A local street is getting a legendary new name, thanks to the vision of a passionate community staple who turned her business into a sanctuary for soccer fans.
"Leo Messi Way" is officially coming to life, serving as a permanent tribute to the legendary Argentine World Cup champion. The project is the product of Carolina Zo-Kalski, a restaurant owner who has spent decades fostering a deep love for the sport in her community.
Thirty years ago, Zo-Kalski made the life-changing decision to leave Argentina and move to the United States. While establishing her roots, she opened a restaurant that quickly became much more than just a place to eat.
According to Zo-Kalski, she deliberately turned her establishment into a "home away from home" for fans of Argentina's national team, welcoming crowds of supporters dressed proudly in the team's iconic blue and white jerseys.
The idea to permanently honor Messi originated with Zo-Kalski, who fought to get the street naming officially approved. Her vision quickly gained traction, earning key support from the local mayor and various community leaders who recognized the immense cultural impact of the sport and the restaurant itself.
The newly minted "Leo Messi Way" is located directly near a cafe, creating a perfect central hub where local residents and passionate fans regularly gather to watch the soccer icon play.
