Southampton Town police say they received a call Sunday at 2:43 p.m. for an escalating domestic situation and dispatched units to the area of Topping Drive in Northampton.
Southampton police said Sunday night that there was an ongoing investigation with Suffolk County police and there was no danger to the community.
Neighbors say it was not the first time police were called to the same house on Topping Drive.
Multiple neighbors say police were also at the house early Sunday morning.
“It’s a very quiet neighborhood and we're pretty close knit,” said Linda Kommer, of Northampton.
“I think that we've all been brainwashed into thinking, 'oh, not in my backyard.' This doesn't happen in my community. This doesn't happen in my neighborhood, but it does,” said Quartz Williams, of Northampton.
It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured or if police made any arrests as of Sunday night.
