A kitten caught in the center median of Sunrise Highway was rescued Tuesday.

Suffolk police say they got the call around 9:40 a.m. and blocked the road until an animal rescuer retrieved the kitten.

The 8-year-old kitten was named Sunrise and is being checked for injuries before being put up for adoption.
