A popular South Jersey deli is back open after being shut down for more than a week following a costly theft.

Somerdale Cold Cuts reopened after someone stole wires from the business's walk-in refrigerator.

The deli says the theft caused approximately $20,000 in food losses.

Owner John "Johnny Gabagool" Cicalese says he was forced to throw away spoiled meats and cheeses after the refrigeration system stopped working.

The financial impact extended beyond the spoiled inventory, as the business was also unable to serve customers during the shutdown.

Police are continuing to investigate the theft.

Authorities say whoever was responsible also took copper wires and pipes from the property.

No arrests have been announced.
