A JetBlue flight was forced to divert after being struck by lightning shortly after takeoff from Westchester County Airport.
The incident happened Tuesday as the plane was climbing out on its way to Orlando.
Audio from the cockpit captured the moment the crew reported the issue.
“We just got struck by lightning… it’s fried our weather radar and we can’t continue,” the pilot said.
Officials say the strike knocked out the aircraft’s weather radar system.
The flight was diverted to JFK Airport as a precaution.
The plane landed safely and no injuries were reported.
