There’s a little town in the mountains of California named Big Pine. There was a burial there last week that was more than 80 years in the making.

A New Jersey resident killed in World War II was identified as Bridgeton's Roman Cherubini.

Cherubini died in Burma in May 1944, but his remains were only recently identified. They flew his remains from Hawaii to Reno, Nevada and then to Big Pine so he could rest in peace next to his twin brother.

There are still thousands of soldiers’ remains listed as unknown from many different wars. New DNA breakthroughs are allowing for identifications to be made pretty much every week.

Army Pvt. Roman Cherubini was only 22 when he was killed in action.
