There is now a citywide art installation in each of the five wards. Each celebrates Newark's history.
Old photographs are set up on mini billboards.
Artist and Newark native Manny Acevedo took the photos during the 1980s. The pictures captured neighborhood life in Newark some 40 years ago.
Acevedo has a collection of over 3,000 photographs from the city during that decade. Most have never been seen.
Residents can find the photos in each ward on South Orange Avenue, Clinton Avenue, Linden Street, at Branch Brook Park and Raymond Boulevard.
The photos will be on display through October.
