3ds agoA burial with full military honors will take place in Wrightstown on Friday. It is a burial that is 74 years in the making as a lost soldier from the Korean War will be laid to rest.
North Arlington's Anthony Lopa was just 17 when he was killed in Korea in 1950. His remains were only officially identified last year. Officials used mitochondrial DNA to identify him conclusively.
Lopa had been buried for the last 70 years in a tomb of unknowns at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii. His remains were flown from Dallas-Fort Worth to New Jersey on Wednesday.
A large turnout is expected for the burial.
