The easier way to get to Washington, D.C. from New Jersey is to get in a car and take Interstate 95. But there is also the “Jersey Proud” way – take a kayak.
About a dozen people have spent the week paddling to the nation’s capital. They are a part of Operation Deep Blue. Westwood Police Officer Danielle Neuberger is one of them.
This is a fundraiser for families who've lost first responders and the military in the line of duty.
The group left from Pennsville in South Jersey on Monday. They will arrive in D.C. on Saturday - 225 miles in all.
