Jersey Proud: Girl Scout creates nature trail in honor of late friend

A new nature trail has opened in the Pine Barrens – made possible by a young woman who is honoring a late friend.
Joellie Giquinto cut the ribbon on “Marketa’s Trail” in Medford Lakes. It is a mile-long trail through the woods and is named in honor of Marketa McCabe who died four years ago at the age of 20.
Giquinto says her friend loved being in nature, so she created the nature trail in her honor.
Giquinto won the Girl Scout Gold Award for her commitment to her friend.
