An 18-year-old Jersey City man wanted in connection with a double homicide in Jersey City has been arrested in New York and is awaiting extradition to New Jersey, authorities said.
Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello said members of the New York City Police Department arrested Treshawn Daniels on June 20 on Washington Avenue in the Bronx for unrelated charges.
Daniels is charged with murder, attempted murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose in connection with a May 18 shooting in Jersey City.
According to authorities, Jersey City police responded shortly after 1 a.m. to reports of gunfire in the area of 109-111 Old Bergen Road. Officers found two men, later identified as Luis Quintero, 53, and Kenneth Darby, 52, both of Jersey City, inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. The men were taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where they were pronounced dead.
Prosecutors said two other individuals were previously arrested in connection with the investigation.
Jahquan Porter, 25, of Jersey City, faces charges including attempted murder, aggravated assault, terroristic threats and weapons offenses involving a knife. Angelica Manning, 23, of Bayonne, is charged as an accomplice with attempted murder, aggravated assault and related weapons offenses.
