The Jericho School District said it is canceling the remainder of its varsity football season, becoming the third program on Long Island to either alter or shut down for the year due to player availability.
"While we are disappointed that circumstances require us to suspend the remainder of this season, this is not the end of Jericho Football," Jericho Superintendent of Schools Robert Kravitz told News 12 in a statement. "We remain committed to the program and look forward to a future in which our students will once again take the field representing Jericho."
The team forfeited its first game of the year before losing the next two and will now forfeit the remaining games on the schedule.
