A multivehicle crash left six people hurt Friday evening in South Jersey, according to state police.

Authorities say a Peterbilt tractor-trailer driver swerved to avoid a crash while traveling south on the turnpike in Mount Laurel.

The trailer then jackknifed and collided with 10 cars near marker 35.5.

The six victims of the pileup were hospitalized for treatment.
