The East Brunswick High School boys basketball team has plenty to be proud of this year.
Senior point guard Cam Vick threw a nearly full-court buzzer beater in a game against Franklin in December – the kind of move every player dreams of.
"I saw the trajectory...it felt like it was in the air for like 10 seconds,” says Vick.
He says it was a feeling he won't soon forget.
"It was really cool...seeing like everybody stand up. I see my parents in the video, my family,” he says.
A couple of weeks later, Vick had fans on their feet again when he sank the 1,000th point of his high school basketball career.
Making the 1,000th point is a milestone that only eight boys have ever achieved in town.
"I've been stressing about it. Probably since last year,” says Vic.
And when he hit it, his team was right there to celebrate.
"This team, it's like a brotherhood. A lot of us grew up with each other. We've been with each other since probably the sixth grade…like Matt [Mikulka] and I have been friends since third grade,” says Vick
Mikulka hit his 1,000th point last year and has scored more points than any other player in the history of East Brunswick boys basketball.
"Not only are they great players, they're great kids,” says Coach Mark Motusesky."We have six, seven seniors on the team, all tremendous leaders for us. And they've been building over the course of many years playing together. They're great friends.”
Vick hopes to play ball in college as well.
The team is 15-4 this year and is undefeated in their division.
