Crews rushed to the scene of an accident in Hackensack after an industrial press crushed a man’s hands on Thursday afternoon.
Fire officials say the man was able to free himself from the machine but lost a significant amount of blood in the process.
Workers inside the building on South Newman Street were able to administer medical treatment before first responders arrived.
Crews applied two tourniquets before he was taken to a hospital for further treatment.
As of Friday morning, no updates on the man's condition have been provided.
Officials say the machine was secured, and OSHA was notified of the incident.
