Police have released new images of two women they are searching for in connection to a violent assault in Fordham Heights.
The incident happened on Aug. 16 just after 2:30 a.m. near W. 183 Street and Grand Avenue.
Police initially released images of a man and a car they were seeking back on Aug. 17.
Investigators say that a 36-year-old woman was engaged in a verbal dispute with a group that turned violent. The 36-year-old woman was struck over the head with a blunt object and slashed in the arm. A 37-year-old man who tied to intervene was stabbed and slashed multiple times in the back.
The group of assailants then fled the scene in a dark colored SUV traveling eastbound on Evelyn Place.
Both the 36-year-old woman and the 37-year-old man were taken to St Barnabas Hospital and are expected to be OK.
