An Israel Defense Forces sergeant from New Haven died in southern Lebanon, according to an announcement made early Sunday morning.

IDF officials say Moshe Yitzchak hacohen Katz fell during combat.

He was a soldier of the 890th battalion, paratroopers brigade.

The IDF expressed their condolences to the soldier’s family and loved ones.
